Dr. Fottrell graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1988. She pursued an internship in internal medicine before specializing in psychiatry, completing an Adult Psychiatry residency and a Child and Adolescent fellowship at Vanderbilt University.
She has been in private practice in the Nashville area from 1993 to the present and serves as the Clinical Director of Psychiatry at Mercy Community Healthcare.
Dr. Fottrell has worked in a variety of public health positions beginning in her days of residency. She is the Medical Director of the Stars Program and the Scarab Behavioral Health Youth Sex Offender Program. She also enjoys education and mentorship, having supervised several nurse practitioners in the field of psychiatry.
Her most recent endeavor is assuming the role as our Medical Director where she will be supervising our wonderful nurse practitioners. She will also work with the team to add new and innovative treatments at the center.
Outside of her work, Dr. Fottrell enjoys her dogs, traveling, camping, kayaking, her church, and spending time with friends.
